Milk Bag Project - Sleeping Mats for Haiti

Our own Donna Teetzel has been making these mats, and is wondering if there are others who would like to join her?  It is simple - all you need is a crochet hook, a pair of scissors, milk bags and some time.  If you are interested please give Donna a call at 633-1559.

(There is a mat in the coffee room)

FROM THE QUILTERSAsking for remnants of fabric & any amounts of 4 ply worsted – chunky wool.  The group is knitting “pneumonia vests” for children living in the mountains of Peru, and perhaps other countries.  Please leave any donations in the box marked “Fabric & Wool” in the library.

PNEUMONIA VESTS  - A vest and toque is on display in the coffee room.  With them, are the easy knitting instructions for those who would enjoy knitting one or more at home. We have wool available - thanks to the generosity of  those who donated it. The vests are quite easy - garter stitch (knit every row).  A nice project to do while watching TV at night - no need to count stitches at all!  For further information or wool, please call Marie McKeachnie, 631-0817. (Though details not yet confirmed, the vests will be delivered around March.).

"God has blessed us, that we might be a blessing to others”

If you would like to donate non perishable food items to the Caring Cupboard Food Bank, we have placed a “loaves & Fishes” box in the north transcept of the sanctuary for your gifts.  This is available on Sundays and through the week when the church is open

EASTER SUNDAY

Remember your butterflies for the cross and to return your Easter Baskets!

BUTTERFLIES FOR EASTER SUNDAY

As an expression of Resurrection Joy, we invite everyone to bring a butterfly to church Easter Sunday morning- to adorn the 'ole wooden cross' that has been standing in the chancel through Lent.

As you come into the sanctuary, you will be invited to the chancel, to place your butterfly on the cross.

WHAT KIND OF BUTTERFLIES? (not real ones)

That's up to you! The beauty of this collaboration, will be the variety

of butterflies we bring. 'Uniquely Yours' is what we're hoping for.

SOME might like to draw, cut out and colour paper butterflies.

SOME may choose to buy a butterfly-choosing the colour and size.

SOME may CROCHET - QUILT - PAPER MACHE a butterfly etc.

LET THE CREATIVITY FLOW!!!!!

Please note: Your butterflies will be placed on the cross with two sided cellophane tape, (so please keep them 'light').

Once again it's time to clean out your closets, garage and basement and contribute to our Spring Rummage Sale. We will be ready to accept your donations as of March 1 - Monday to Thursday, 8am to 4pm.

Please have all goods to the Church before the 22nd of April.

A note from the Book Room - No National Geographies, Reader's Digest (hard cover or paperback), School or Technical books, Encyclopedias or outdated books - they just end up in the landfill site.
