CHRISTMAS SHOPPE has come and gone from our gym! More than 220 families came to buy toys and clothes for their 500 children, age 13 and under. We were gifted with 3 different one-time collections for our Shoppe. There were free clothes from a children’s clothing store that closed this year, 6 boxes from the hospital bazaar and 75 new stuffed bears from one estate. Altogether, we had enough for one animal for each child who came to buy for parents on Saturday. This year there were 10 valuable volunteers – Carolyn Cruickshank, Pauline Lindsay, Ken & Marlene Lunn, Jean Berdan, Shirley Coutanche, June Harris, Jim Silcox, Sarah and Rachael Muma with Barb & Gus Langley. We continue to feel blessed as we enjoy the facilities here that were missing when we set up in the Grand Central Basement such as heat, light, water, phone, etc. We plan to increase our token payment this year for First United.
